If you’ve ever needed a reason to celebrate a nontraditional Thanksgiving weekend, you’ll find it here. Each and every day, there is something going on here at the tip of Cape Cod. Member bed and breakfasts of the Distinctive Inns of Provincetown invite you to enjoy a weekend away from the usual headaches of this November holiday and subsequent shopping madness that ensues, and instead spend a weekend of fun that only P-Town can provide!
Begin your long weekend by relaxing away the pre-Thanksgiving stress. When you arrive on Wednesday, check into your favorite area lodging accommodations, and then head to Romeo’s Holiday for the PBG (Provincetown Business Guild) Massage Special (you MUST mention this special to receive it) of a full hour massage for just $60! At 5:00pm, you can feel like a true local by heading over to the Pilgrim Monument and Museum on High Pole Hill for the Annual Monument Lighting festivities: enjoy cider and cookies, meet some new friends, and help count down to the lighting. Meander back to The Atlantic House in town where Bingo starts at 9:30 and dancing commences at 10:00.
Thanksgiving Day… what to do? Like so many Americans, you can certainly EAT!!! Enjoy a great breakfast at your cozy P-Town inn, then you can plan lunch and dinner out: Fanizzi’s Restaurant, Mews Restaurant and Cafe, and Bistro At Crowne Pointe will all offer Thanksgiving dinner options during the afternoon and into the evening. Between meals, you can bundle up and take a walk on a sandy beach or head to Beech Forest to work off some calories. Of course, you can always come back to your chosen B and B to relax away the time… At 9:30, head back to The Atlantic House to karaoke and dance away those calories!
Friday brings shopping, even in our little town. The differences, however, are obvious. Forbidden Fruit decor features their SUPER SALE today with 50% off ticketed prices on almost everything in the store! In fact, Commercial Street is full of businesses offering everything from souvenirs, to clothing, art, items for the home, items for children, and even skin care. And, okay, there are a couple of places where you can pick up items for those “special adult someone’s” in your life… There’s a pretty good chance you can complete much of your holiday shopping right here in P-town!
Friday evening offers two options: the PBG Casino Night at the Crown and Anchor starting at 8pm, and dancing at the Atlantic House beginning at 10pm.
Saturday offers more shopping opportunities. Or you can take the day to see the sights, walk on the beach, bird-watch, hit the trails at Beech Forest, or even head over to Truro Winery to taste their offerings and pick up a few more gifts, as they are open through November this year! Saturday evening brings many options: Illusions Drag Revue at Paramount (in the Crown and Anchor), a Sing-along with Doug Repetti at Central House (in the Crown and Anchor), the no-cover Retro-Active Video Lounge for entertainment and dancing with VJ Tom Yaz at the Wave Bar (in the Crown and Anchor), and dancing at the A House with DJ David LaSalle.
If you choose to make it an even LONGER weekend, find those activities you’ve missed on Friday and Saturday, and cross each and every one off the To-Do List! The A House also offers Disco Night on Sunday night as well.
Don’t let the holiday keep you from planning to visit P-town on November 21-25, 2012. Instead, select your favorite Distinctive Inn accommodations and spend an unforgettable Thanksgiving in a unique way!
