Although school has started, don’t think that Provincetown’s summer of events is over quite yet! September is full of things to do during your getaway to the tip of Cape Cod, two of which are the Afterglow Festival and 10 Days of Art, both coming to our shores early in the month!
Afterglow Festival: Performing Arts at their finest
September 9-15, 2013
Both up-and-coming and established personalities are featured in this celebration of live-stage innovation. Seventeen artists/performance groups (including musical director Matt Ray) appear in 14 acts throughout the week. Jazz, cabaret, drama, comedy, and dance party performances… there’s something for everyone at Afterglow! Tickets to each show are available for $30. Save when you elect to attend a full event day (including two shows) for just $54. A pass to all the performances is $360 – an almost $400 savings. A pass for all shows plus all extra festival events is $500 – we won’t even go into the obscene amount you’ll save with this option!
10 Days of Art: Hidden P-Town Art Treasures
September 13-22, 2013
More than 25 artists/teams are featured, presenting art installations, sculptures, and dramatic/multimedia creations. Meet the artists at the Grand Opening, learn technique and get the artists’ point-of-view at the Free University dialogues, and peruse the artwork presented at the Town Hall Auditorium. A full schedule of events is available for you to plan each day. You can even participate in the Geocaching activity (these are more of the hidden treasures) during the event! Individual artworks are available for purchase. NOTE: A red dot means the artwork is sold, so act fast when you see something you like and make sure the red dot is YOURS!
The Innkeepers of The Distinctive Inns of Provincetown welcome you to stay during these, and other activities. These are just two of the upcoming September events – check back for information on others next week!
