Have you been away from Provincetown for too long during this long winter? Are you ready to see our beautiful town awake from its slumber and get a jump-start on the 2014 event season? Then get your partner and book your favorite bed and breakfast room during the weekend of April 25, 26, and 27, 2014 and the Provincetown Gays for Patsy Spring Stomp weekend!
Each year, the Crown and Anchor hosts this fun event. Gays for Patsy strives to keep partner dancing alive for the town through events, workshops, and retreats. The Spring Stomp is the annual kickoff event for another great season of fun!
On Friday, April 25, the Opening Dance takes place for a small $5 cover. While this is a great place for practiced dancers to warm up for the weekend, there are lessons before the actual dance (Beginner Two-Step at 7:30pm and Line Dance at 8:00pm). The actual dance begins at 8:30 and lasts until 11:00.
Saturday, April 26 brings the big day and main event. Not sure of your own feet? Five workshops precede the event, beginning at 10am and continuing through 4pm, helping you get ready for the big event on Saturday night! Workshops cost $15 per person.
Also on Saturday is a Book Signing with the Fabulous Beekman Boys ($35 admission includes a copy of their book) and a cocktail demonstration. The dance is preceded by a Tomatoes Four Ways Farm to Table Dinner featuring locally-gown ingredients (this four-course dinner is $70 per person).
If you need a bit more practice before the evening’s dance, you can catch an additional Line Dance Lesson from 7-8pm. The Spring Stomp Dance begins promptly at 8pm and features live performances as well as DJ Bucky Chappell manning the recorded music during step daces, line dances, swing dances and waltzes. Admission is $20 per person.
The weekend wraps on Sunday, April 27 with Brunch at Fanizzi’s By the Sea so you can fill your belly before your trip home.
Want to attend any of the dances or workshops you want? You can purchase a Weekend Pass for just $60. If you plan to attend a number of the Saturday Workshops, this will certainly save you some money! (Please not that the Weekend Pass DOES NOT include the Tomatoes Four Ways Farm to Table Dinner.)
So bring your dancing shoes (boots?) to your favorite Distinctive Inns of Provincetown lodging accommodation and get ready for a weekend of stompin’-good fun!
