I whistle while I work it
- Chester See, "Whistle While I Work It"
Happy Labor Day everyone (or happy after-Labor Days if you see this page after September first)! The day we celebrate the contributions of the American Worker by taking the day off! It is also the last real hurrah of summer...
Or is it?
Members of the Distinctive Inns of Provincetown beg to differ with that statement, as it's still plenty warm here in Massachusetts, and there is plenty still happening during the month of September!
The Provincetown Shooner Regatta is happening this very week from September 2-4. See the excitement of the tall ship races across Provincetown Harbor!
Afterglow Alternative Performance Arts Festival comes to The Crown and Anchor stage on September 8-14, bringing with it exceptional perforners from here and abroad.
The Provincetown Art Association and Museum turns 100 this year! To commemorate this anniversary, the Centennial Consignment Auction takes place on September 20. This is a perfect time to invest in artwork by Provincetown artists residents who have passed away. Can't make the auction? Written and telephone bidding is available!
One of America's favorite playwrights, Tennessee Williams is celebrated on September 25-28 with the Tennessee Williams Theater Festival. See works by or about this great author performed, attend discussions and enjoy social events.
Add to that the Swim for Life & Paddler Flotilla on the 6th, the Yahkee Lambda Car Club Show and Parade on the 6th, the activities in nearby Truro, MA on the 21st, the Provincetown Dahlia Show on the 27-28, and much more.
All in all Labor Day is NOT the final hurrah of summer here in Provincetown; we make the most of the entire month and invite our guests to do the same!
You know it, you love it, but have you Liked Us yet on Facebook?
